Why can some guests and members not view my forum?

Just as the title says. Some guests and Members have problems viewing my forum. one of my members said "Again, I can't access your site (LSWForum). I've entered the address and everything, but the same thing shows up that it isn't a secure website or something...". This person is one of my monitors and never had a problem before. Is it my forum or there computer. Please help. I have seen posts before like this. What is going on. Sad

Check your forum permissions, you may be restricting guests to some forums.

No, that is not it. The forum does not come up, the internet gives them a earer (how ever you spell that).

Most likely its their security system they have on their computer that is preventing them not going on.

Aha! I think I know. As BeBot pointed out...
Some security programs, or filters, restrict various websites. Certain forums, or forum providers, may be restricted, as forums are generally deemed "unsafe" due to factors of control and moderation.

IDK I don't see it they do. It is not on my forum it is on the browser.

Anyways, if they have parental control on it would say "parental control has blocked this web page". See....I have this! Razz

From which country does your member comes from ?

Which browser did he use ? Has he tried with another browser ?

Because I can access without any problem, from Canada with Mozilla Firefox.

I'm not saying Parental Controls, there are security programs that block sites with a VERY similar message.

So in short, this shouldn't be a matter of forum problems. The user/s will need to solve the issue with their firewall, security program, whatever.

O.K.! I contacted this member of mine, and they are not able to get to any forumotion forums. But he can get to forumotion forums that have a domain name! odd! It gives him a error.

It makes sense. Forumotion forums with a domain name are counted as entirely different sites, not in any way connected with forumotion. So, one may safely assume their firewall denies forumotion, and not these unknown domain forums.

you will have to tell them to go into there firewall settings and allow your site/forumotion sites.. this is definitely a problem on there end with there browser,service or firewall.
