"getting it to open from any page" ~ sorry, I don't get that.

If its a widget, then place that widget onto the forum page.

Looks good. Instead of search the site with google. I think it could be, search with google.
As it is below is a checkbox to search for your forum posts on google.

Which border are you exactly talking about? A screenshot would help.

Okay check this code, see if it works for you.
Code:
<br><div align="center"><form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search" target="_blank"><div style=3px;width:20em;">
<table border="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr><td>
<input type="text" border="4"  name="q" size="20"
 maxlength="255" value="" style="border:solid 1px #6DB72C;" />
<input type="submit" value="Search with Google" style="border:solid 1px #6DB72C;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td align="center" style="font-size:75%">
<input type="checkbox"  name="sitesearch"
 value="mybulgariaportal.com" checked />Search Forum<br />
</td></tr></table>
</div>
</form>
</div>
#6DB72C Change that color code to anything that you like.
