Birthday message help please. Empty Birthday message help please.

Can someone explain to me what exactly each of the following do please? I've set my birthday as today as a test.

I ask because I've put text in the Birthday Message one and, also, in the Birthday Message Subject one, but nothing appears on my Home Page other than the name of the user with a birthday today.

For ........... Birthday message subject * ............. I just put anything to test, such as: JJJJKKKKLLLL

For ........... Birthday message * .............. I put : Happy Birthday . . . .

What am I doing wrong? Being stupid, I guess! :-(
