Re: Copy rights
Technically, you don't need to place a copyright as all your works have intangible rights.
Re: Copy rights
That's flat-out wrong! In order to assert your rights, you MUST place a copyright notice in your work. Otherwise, how would anyone know it's yours?dotDavid wrote:Technically, you don't need to place a copyright as all your works have intangible rights.
There's no need for actual registration unless your work is extremely valuable and you feel that you need the added legal protection.

Re: Copy rights
You wanna bet?
Copyright isn't trademark. You must register a trademark, hence a protection is given, and you must let people know that.
Again I say, under the DMCA, any content unqiue to you and your account is already copyrighted. Copyright protection is granted automatically from the time an original work is created. Copyright is not a copyright notice. They are different. Copyright notice is what you are saying. Copyright is intangible, and cannot be altered in any way.

Re: Copy rights
dotDavid I wouldn't do that if I was you. Dion knows what he is talking about. Trust me he does.

Re: Copy rights
If you insist, but I can honestly say that I have the Australian government behind my back, as I have asked them myself.
All the OP needs to do is to stick a "copyright notice" on their works, not place a copyright.
And MM, I know what I am talking about.

I'm glad you agree with me.

Re: Copy rights
Ok, yet you mentioned "That's flat-out wrong!".
Looks like we both knew, just said it in different ways.

Re: Copy rights
You can just say something similar to this "These images are protected through copyright laws.".
