What is the basket?

I'm not sure of it's purpose, or if I even need it..

The Basket is the part of the forum where you can send all unwanted posts.
It is normally used to store unwanted posts rather than delete them.
Sometimes it is handy to be able to read back on some of them for referrence.

if named "trash can" would that help.? it can also be renamed . keep it to store post you don't want displayed for all to see, but would like to keep for references ect. its a forum basically.

is because they both posted practically at the same time & hadn't seen each others posts.

On our forum we insist that the moderators put everything they remove from the forum in the basket. That way we can see exactly what it was in the case of a dispute & in rare circumstances re-instate the post.

Just A place to move unwanted threads
Note that not all unwanted threads need to be moved to the basket, You can remove them all together.
