Showing categories only

I created a forum for my school

The forum is too branchy
How can I make the home page shows only categories and sub-categories
but not showing any forms
if the user clicks a category its forums appear?
can it be possible?

The second question
Can users attach Word files or pdf files to their posts?
how?

Hello,

I think you need to change the hierarchy of your forum
Please navigate to Admin CP > Display > Structure & Hierarchy.
Choose an appropriate one for your need and save.
