Database Empty Database

Post by AndreazZz August 18th 2007, 3:28 pm

I've managed to figure out forumotion utilities, but i have a question.

I've seen the 'backup database'' option, but it seems that the database is being saved on your servers! Can i save the db on my pc?

Well, there is a way to restore you forum to the way it was on the beggining of a day, each day, a 'Backup' as you might call it, is saved to the database, and you can choose which one you want to restore. I'm not sure i understood your question, but i hope i answered something helpful

we did a forum database copy every night so you can do your backups when you need! but it's the admin's that do the backup from the utilities panel!

one more question: why i can't post new topic in this forum?

didn't you read this!!!? "This forum is closed! Please post in specialized sections below according to the nature of your problem...!"

does the forumotion save the database backup automaticly?

yes, every day

I have a real problem with my backup option.
If it is automatically backed up every day how do i restore it.
If i access the manual back up and restore options i can't login it .
What can i do ?
Please somebody help me , there's no way i could figure this out.
I asked an administrator and he told me to post on the forum and as i can't start a new topic i hope this doesn't break any rules.

Later Edit . I don't want to save the backup on my Pc , i want it stored on your systems , but i need to manually back it up once in a while and restore it when needed.

///Pm me if you can't post in here.

I think so

For the manual Back-up bit:
It's on your forum wit the pathroute mentionned earlier

For the Utilities:
Are you sure your using your forumname or original founder mail and the original founder password?
