Account deleted by member email Empty Account deleted by member email

Post by Keyhole_kate March 20th 2010, 11:33 pm

I have not been able to find anything already posted or in FAQ's to answer my question.

I was testing this out on the forum my friend and I are constructing. What I want to know is this, the email that is sent to the member who has deleted their account has a space for the forum email address, but currently that does not appear and I have been unable to find where to add that in the admin panel. We have the email address in the usual places but none of these appear to be relating to this deletion email. Would you please tell me how to add this?

Thank you

Hello,

This email address is set in the DataBase by the Technician's, and the Email address is either: member@forumotion.com OR board@forumotion.com OR member@editboard.com OR board@editboard.com.

You cant change these configurations Wink

But it doesn't give any email address, just says {BOARD_EMAIL}. Surely this should have the actual board email address in?

Below is the actual text of the email that gets sent. (have XXX out the name of forum etc. Smile)

The following message is an email sent to you by an administrator of "XXX". If this message is spam, contains abusive or other comments you find offensive please contact the webmaster of the board at the following address:

{BOARD_EMAIL}

Include this full email (especially the headers).

Message sent to you follows:

You have asked to delete your account XXXX on XXXX

Were is that code, what template, never seen it before?

{BOARD_EMAIL} is a code that is a link between your forum and the database, and the database contains the email addresses: Member@forumotion.com, board@forumotion.com, board@editboard.com and member@editboard.com.

You can't change the email address.

It is not a code, it is an email sent to the member who deleted their account. Smile

Sorry but anything to deal with emails can't be changed nor can we add anything to them as it set to the database and we don't have access to that.

So are you saying that the email is supposed to be sent out like that? It does not appear that it should. Surely someone has access to it to correct it if it is not correct?

Sorry, I didn't see the email message.

So the code {BOARD_EMAIL} was received as the email sender?

Like Mario has said, and I have previously said it's in the DB, and we can't change it.
But the email should be sent with {BOARD_EMAIL} as the sender?

As I have stated above, surely this email is not being sent out correctly? Therefore someone must have access to the DB to alter it??

ok, so I'm assuming that the code {BOARD_EMAIL} is being shown as the sender.

This could be the technician's changing something in the DB and giving it the weekend to trial it.

How long has the emails been sent out with this code?

Yes it is.

Well I don't know because we are only just constructing our site and have been testing out everything.

Could we get a screenshot of this please?
I've just sent myself a PM, and I'm getting the usual board@forumotion.com

The PM one is ok. It's the account deletion one that isn't. Smile

Not sure what you want a screen shot of? The email? I have typed above exactly how the email appears. (except for deleting the forum address and user name).

I've just attempted to remove an account on my test forum, and it was sent via noreply@editboard.com

It appears as if it was only a temporary error within the DB, and we can safely know that it has been corrected by the looks of things from my angle.

Nope it is still doing it. It is the one where the member deletes their own account, not where you delete them. How do I do a screen shot to show you?
