Re: Pop up music player
A few of the most accomplished ones to examine are Mixpod, Flashwidgetz and Filefactory.
In the first two above, you select a style for your player and then enter the urls of mp3s to form a playlist. And you can make as many playlists as you want.
In filefactory, you upload mp3s into their own storage and then use their mp3 player widget to form a playlist.
In all of the above, you just get the embed code when your player is completed and post it into your page. If you wanted to post in into actual forum posts, you must enable html on your forum.
To turn the basic music player into a popup player, you need an extra piece of code embedded at the end of your music player code. Theres a code snippet for filefactory players popup elsewhere in this forum as I asked about it last weekend.

Yes, theres a big problem with mixpod though as regards privacy -
On some of their players, someone clicking on the player itself can access your mixpod profile.
This used to happen with flashwidgetz too until I pointed this out to them, and now the players concerned have been re-edited. Mixpod cant be arsed so I never use them now.

Re: Pop up music player
Just go to
http://flashwidgetz.com
...and select your style of music player widget.
Then go to somewhere like
http://beemp3.com (or any mp3 downloads site, theres plenty out there)
...and get the urls of the tracks you wanted to play.
Then put the urls into your music player and get the 'embed code'.
Finally, put the embed code into your portal following the instructions in the 'tricks and tips' section in this forum.
