Problem With Personalised Domain Name

Hi I want to create a personalised domain name for my forum. I already own the domain name and have configured it so that it redirects to my forum URL via my domain hosts control panel.

However, when I try to configure this in my forum Admin control panel I get the following error message - The supplied domain name is not well configured You have no CNAME redirecting to : (forum url)

I am certain I have configured it properly in my domain hosts control panel but it isn't working when I type my domain name in my forum control panel.

Can someone help please?

Yes i've followed those steps and like i said it's still not working. I'm certain I have configured it properly.
