How to add news box on main forum page?

Can i add a box or something like that to main forum page where i can display the forum news or links to new news posts. Lets say to place it below the forum logo or between the navigation bar and the forum top (below the navigation bar).

Well if your good at CSS you can achieve this, but if your not to fussy, you can make a forum which you post yours news in, and as you said you wanted a link to it, just put a link to the forum in the nav bar.

You mean adding an extra button news to nav bar and linking it to the topic. Yeah thats a good idea but i want the whole sentence displayed at the main page.

Something like this

[Nav bar][buttons][-----------]
NEWS: Big party at, .......
