Can I stop email notifications for a short time
Hi is it possible to stop my members getting email notifications for a short period, the reason being is I've just joined this site and created a new forum but I am going to transfer some of my topics manually to the new one but I don't want the members getting notifications with every post I transfer, so is there away to stop this for all for a short time

Well, you can stop watching the topics which you are posting. It will only happen when you reply to a thread.

From what you are saying I would have to unclick watch this topic on every thread for every member. If I was to disabled the board, if that is possible, would this solve the problem?

It can be done via PRofile>Preferences as well. You don't have to then uncheck that watch this topic option in each thread.
It would solve the problem.

Yes I know I can do this for each member, but I want to do it globally for all members until I've transferred all the posts, perhaps I'm not making myself clear?

Well, if you are making the posts, why would the users receive the emails? They won't.

Re: Can I stop email notifications for a short time
Ok let me give you an example, first of all you know that I am using a completely new board from forumotion on which I have registered all my members from my old board myself, I did this manually with all of them, so now I have a new board with all the members and their details from the old board, all I need to do now is to transfer all the old posts from the old board 1 at a time manually , so If I transfer the first post from member number 1 to the new board and then I transfer the reply from Member number 2 then member number 1 will get a notification from the new board !! of a reply which is what I'm trying to stop until I've transferred all the posts over to the new board.

Thats not possible, unless you stop watching topics for each member. If you are using different member ID's to post.
