I heard from someone .tk is a free domain name thingy is this true?

so i follow steps and when they visit my forum http://24-7.forumotion.com it changes to 247-gaming.tk?

EDIT : what about DNS i use mine or theirs what's best ?

Yet another EDIT :

nvm now when i visit http://www.247-gaming.tk i works
and if they visit my old domain it works too ---> really good
