new to this need step by step help

Hi,
I really need help from the start to finish. I just registered a 'forum', but don't really understand the instructions, especially when I click on 'preview' none of the categories I had made, show up?

Please help...

Categories will not show up until you place something ( "forums" ) in them.
Until you do that they have nothing to show.

If you have already done this.
Check your "Permissions"

omg, I can't even find 'permissions'..

I worked out that I had to place 'forums' under each 'catergory', as I had a few 'catergories', only 'one' showed up, with all the 'forums' under it... I'm so confused, I have no idea how to figure it all out... sorry, I REALLY need simple instruction please...

Go "Administration Panel" > "General" > "Categories" > Then you will have two tabs.

"Categories & Forums" + "Forum Permissions Control"





You can change/have specific "Permissions" for selected forums.

On the above page select "Forum".



Then as previously click on the "Permissions" tab.

I really do thank u for taking out the time, but after I have followed all your instructions carefully, I'm still not seeing my other 'categories'.

I have no idea where I am going wrong....
