Edit Footer Links (Legally) Empty Edit Footer Links (Legally)

Hello everyone,

I know that we cannot remove the links from the footer according to the TOS, however we can edit their looks, as long as we keep a link to forumotion and phpbb. We for example can change "Free Forum" to "Powered by Forumotion", making the look of the forum much more professional, mature and serious, especially if you have bought a top level domain name for it and paid the credits to remove the ads. Basically if you're serious about your forum you would want to update this.

Several other forums hosted in FM have done it without any problems, being geekpolice.net one of the biggest examples given that is such a well established website.

My question is, how can we do this in case of phpbb3? We can't access the templates directly in this case. I read we can use javascript to accomplish this. Is that the better way to do it? If yes, how exactly can we do this?

Thanks in advantage for all the help, time and support.
