posting and deleting forums

I have just created my forum and have made a fundamental mistake.... I was trying to tidy up the first page that your members come to and have deleted 'your first topic' and the 'basket' thing, with the posts I had put in them to get it going now deleted as well....

I have tried the ' restore to how it was a few days ago ' option twice, and it does not do what I hope it will.

SO... when my members are directed to the forum they just find .. there are no messages/posts in this forum and no way of starting a topic..

and yes.. I do realise there is probably a very simple solution.. but... I have been trying for hours to rectify this.. so can someone please tell me what to do..

Do I have to close the forum and make a new one..

Sorry but you still didn't changed the title of the topic to something related to your problem
Change it from "Someone can please help me" to something related to your problem

Ok, that's better. Now you can simply make new categories to your forum and everything will be ok. To make a new category go to admin panel=>Forum=>Management=>Categories and Forums. From there push the "+" button and then choose to make a category.
