Problem text deleted, colors changed,...

Hi!
I'm trying since yesterday to copy/paste online some texts (from a Word doc) & pics and everything is going crazy.
If I want to resize a title, it's deleted or it pasted the previous title (how can it does this???). If I want to change the color, when the post is send, I have [color] written everywhere. If I put a link for a pic, another text is deleted anywhere else in the topic !!!

I look weird just to explain that. Somebody can help me?

In this one, the articles are deleted. If I paste the Meet the editor text, the "mom of the month" is deleted and vice versa.

I had a similar problem.

I would try posting links, colors, etc.

and all the html code would show up in the post (and preview).

I found that in my administrator panel, in general configurations, then >> user and forum settings, I had to enable "BBCode".

When it was on, my colors and links would show up normaly.


BUT they advise to keep the HTML turned off. Not for the same reason, just because someone could put large items that would resize the windows.

I don't know if you solved your problem marine, but in case someone else has the same question.

if the html code would show up in the post, you have to switch editor mode befor posting especially, if you make copy/paste online some texts (from a Word doc)

I tried turning the editor on-off, I activated the wysiwyg, I turned it off,.. it only worked when I went back to my control panel and activated-allowed BBCode.

Before, with the editor or wysiwig on or off, whatever the combination was, I had problems.

Unless I skipped something?
Maybe it's not the BBCode? But I always had problems before I did this..

I tried it: I turned the BBcode off and my links were in html.
Turned it back on and it was all normal again

so let the bbcode on! it seems working for you!!

I'm curious: do people usually have to do this (turn on the BBCode) or am I the only one? Your answer gave me the impression that I was..("It seems to be working for you."):O
I keep HTML turned off because I read elsewhere, here, that it was safer in order to prevent abusive uses.

Is there something I'm not doing right? I'd like to know how this stuff is supposed to work!

there is no obligation about that, but you can let your bbcode on!!

But why does it do that for me and (presumably) not for others?

It has to work the same way for everyone?

I just want to know how to make it work correctly.
