New Update...

Great news it looks like the new update is about to happen

Forumotion and its team are pleased to unveil a sneak preview of some of the features that will be implemented with this update:

- An advanced profile

- A "Flood control"

- Multi-quote

- "Thanks" button

- Login pop-up

It looks like its going to be a good one

and there looks to be more

The features mentioned above are just a small taste ... the best was kept for the update.

Login pop up seems interesting also. Is it an option for visitors which they see without register?

And about flood control, it will be great i think. Finally phpbb3 features coming one by one

if we think they are all small tastes as typlo said...

Doc, this is the update that we are waiting 2 months for... its finally here. It was unveiled at around christmas.

The popup login will be completely customizeable along with the flood control.
Mods and admins are immune to flood control.

Don't worry Doctor inferno, the updates will be implemented within the next couple days. (the update is already late, but we didn't mention anything about that... lols)

I think the advanced profiles will be the most productive. From what i've heard the adv profiles are based on vbulletins profile tabs. This leave a lot of room for coding. Those that know a thing or two will definately have some fun. I know me and and placehold are already pampering our fingers, cos we are both taking time off (me from studying) to get our fingers into the new adv profiles.

Will the profile be able to be edited in templates?

Since no one answered the question, flood control allows an admin to set a minimum time between posts from an individual user. A typical option is somewhere between 2 and 5 minutes. If a user tries to make a post within the flood control time, the admin can set a second option to either deny the post, or append the post to the previous one made by the user.

This is a good feature and definitely needed.

Like Sanket already said, this login pop-up window will be for unregistered ones or visitors, so it's useful to let visitors to register i think.

Still thinking the the big one... is it a cash mod or custom bbcode mod?

Still think it wasnt needed. And did the tech think about what happens if visitors etc have a pop up blocker on?

Like I don't know what flood control is and I don't know what advanced profile is :S

the current control is set at 15 seconds...

Wow, 4 months late?
I hope for your sake its worth the wait!

I do hope people do know coding does take time to make and how they wwant to new features to work. Would you guys like to have something thats has all kinds of glitches/bugs? I don't think so. Its better to have the updates late then have them mess with are forums or never come.

But on topic I do hope these new updates will provide better service for the members and owners on their forum. The A Flood control Multi-quote I think are going to be interesting to see how they work. Once they come out I will be messing around with them for a while so I can get the feel of them.

What do you guys think would be the bigger surprise that Typlo mentioned at the bottom of his Update thread? Maybe Cash Mod or something?

I was looking all over my admin panel for these new features but I then read it's still going to take a week before they install them lol. Can't wait...

Oh, and do Cash Mods usually have a feature that a person gets cash for recruiting?

Anyone know how to code me a Joomla whos online module? There you go. Its best to wait for it to be ready then having the module buggy and it displays 100000 people online and there is only like 10.
