how to put xat chatbox on portal page???

Just create a widget.
Copy the code into it.
Then place that in the portal.

i already do that then i keep getting a forum with the entire embed code wrote out and
displayed instead of the chat box.

I believe you have the wrong code in fact.
Go to this page & creat a group (your forum).
http://www.xat.com/web_gear/chat/creategroup.php
Fill in the rest of the details.
Then get new code.
In this code you will see the term "embed" + the url "http://xat.com/friendsnet"

Group description:Forum for etc

Password: You may need this so you can edit the chat.

Tags: (can be left blank) otherwise just key words relating to your forum.

Email: Needed for activation

Url:friends.net.forumotion.com

Check box to say you are over 14 (thats if you are). You need to be older, if you are not.
Then get someone on the forum who is.

Then click button "Create group".
You get the code & activation link.
Job done.

@zebadee_19 i can't see the codes when i activate my chatbox, the only thing appears is my chatbox in xat website,

Your code works fine on my testing forum.


Tell me what steps you are doing.

1. i get my code and i create new widget for my portal...

2. then i paste the code in the widget and i click save..

3. i put the widget in the middle of my portal

4. and the only thing appears are the codes only..

if ur not busy MrMario, can u be the one that puts that chatbox in my forum..

i will make u admin so you can access my admin panel??
