Ads on your forum, this is why Empty Ads on your forum, this is why

Post by Guest December 22nd 2008, 7:21 pm

Forumotion places ads on your forum so that they can generate money to provide you with free forums, updates and pay the people who work for forumotion.

They can place these ads at any time on your site without notifying you. This is how they can offer you a FREE forum.

The way to get rid of the ads are by purchasing credits and then use those credits to delete the ads from your forum.

If this is upsetting you, and you dont like it, there is two things you can do:

1. Purchase credits and use them to rid the ads.
2. Find another provider

So now you can stop complaining about this and do something about it!

Why not we stop questioning these Ads. ForuMotion owns our forums, so they can place ads on it anytime they want. They can do anything with our forums only because they belog to ForuMotion, not us. The oly way that we can get rid of the ads and own the forum we have is to purchase credits (as what Kilsek mentioned).

These ads are here for a great purpose and that is to keep your forum running, not to damage anything.

I also agree when Kilsek said for you guys to stop complaining. Yeah, these ads are annoying, but like we said before, they are here for a great purpose, and they aren't even that noticable.

These threads are getting so annoying about why everyone has ads on there forum. Quit posting all of these threads about why ForuMotion is giving you these ads on your forum, and start doing some research and believe that ForuMotion owns our forums, so they can do whatever the hell they want to with them.
C'mon guys, your threads about these ForuMotion ads are even more annoying hat the ads theirselves.

What do you mean, how else? Forumotion makes it money through Advertising and unspent credits from forums that we're removed due to illegal forums.

Is there only one way of generating credits : by money ? Are there any other means by which credits can be generated ?

At the present moment purchasing credits is the only way to get credits.

The only thing I disagree with is the fact that when you have done the hard work and your forum becomes popular along come the ads usually overnight.
What would be fairer is have them from the beginning.

Nope. If you had ads from the beginning, then you probably wouldn't have all the members you have now, as they would have said before they registered "ugh, ads. I'm not registering here".

Get my point?

I understand all that has been said about the ads i.e generating money for forumotion. It wouldn't be so bad tho if the ads were appropriate for the forums.

But at least then you would know that the ads were going to be there and could then decide if you wanted to build a forum after all with forumotion.
What's done now is a touch sneaky.

The ads aren't on most forums. They are somewhat randomly dispatched onto random forums. If I were you, don't bloody mary yourself. They may come, they may not.
