Need Nameservers to update DNS and change Domain pointing to forum
My domain host does not offer options to redirect via CNAME or sub-domains as the tutorial shows. My hosts are telling me I need to know the nameservers to point my domain to my forumotion forum as this is the only option available through them. I'm certain it's specific and sensitive to the forum we have. So, who do I contact to get the information? Thank you in advance for your time.

Re: Need Nameservers to update DNS and change Domain pointing to forum
Never mind :-) I found another route other than those offered from my host. For those that have a domain host that does NOT offer CNAME configuration (like mine!) check out everydns.com. It is a free service that you can configure to use with your forumotion account. You'll have to make sure your domain is not parked with your host first.
On the landing page for everydns.com are the nameservers you'll need to put into your host's nameserver section for your domain. Write these down! They are only on the home page of everydns.com.
At everydns.com after you've registered....
Add a New Domain. It will show up as Primary domain.
Click on it to manage it.
You'll see "Add a Record"
Where it says "Fully Qualified Domain" type: www
For "Record Type" choose CNAME
For "Record Value" enter the name of your forum without http:// or www attached. So it will look like this.....
yourforum.forumotion.com (or whatever it is )
Click ADD
That's it...you're done! Now log into your adminstrator section and validate it. Mine took a few hours to show up and of course I learned the hard way to unpark my domain with the host :-)

Re: Need Nameservers to update DNS and change Domain pointing to forum
Hey, I followed your instructions above, because i had the same problems and for few hours everything was okay (we could access to new domain), but now the access is not possible. The forum can not open, because browser can't establish connection to the servers at my domain name. Do you have the same problems, maybe? I don't know where the error is, at my domain host, forumotion or everydns.com

No we haven't had those issues. Our domain is still up and working just fine. I don't have an answer to this one. Sorry :-)
