Domain offered by forumotion
Hello,
A year ago I had a top level domain (.com) offered to me by forumotion. They offered it on my admin panel and I activated it, didn't have to pay for it.
Now I have this new message on my admin panel:
"Your domain name will expire in 58 days. You can renew it for one year by going to "Credits management" at the "Misc" tab."
Will forumotion renew it or will they require me to pay from now on?
Thanks for the help.

I think they would require you to pay unless you can renew it without buying credits?

I think they'll require you to pay it..
Since you didn't pay for it before.....
They're now selling it now....

You were offered a free domain due to your activity. Consider it more as a reward.
So is this problem solved?

I know, but the thing is the forum keeps the same high activity it always had, if not more. There is no way to get it for another year by forum motion or a proper place to ask them?Base wrote:You were offered a free domain due to your activity. Consider it more as a reward.

Re: Domain offered by forumotion
The 1600 credits it takes to pay for your domain name only works out to just over 17 dollars.
What you could do is put up the donations link and see if your members would be willing to donate to keep the forum at its own domain. I would post a notice about having put up the link, personally, so that they know it's there. Explain the situation to them and you may be surprised at people's generosity.
Donations Do-Dad is here: (Admin Panel>Misc>Credits Management> Donations)
You were fortunate to receive the free year you got. Many of us don't.
I hope the suggestion helps.

Re: Domain offered by forumotion
Hi,
No, there is no way to receive another free domain, unless your forum was offered it. ForuMotion offered a free reward for having such a popular forum, and to have your second year year also rewarded/free domain, your forum would have to increase in activity, as far as I'm aware.
There is no defined, or known number of activity to receive the free domain.
This is NOT a marketing trick - they simply gave u something free, and if you wish to continue having the same domain, you will be required to purchase the domain for the second year. Sorry.
