Domain related question(s) - Can I point a domain hosted elsewhere to my forumotion URL/forum?
So I currently have a domain registered with a hosting company which points to a webserver I manage there. Can I simply get that altered so it points to mysite.forumotion.com so people visiting that domain come my forumotion forum instead? Or do I need to also/instead do something here at forumotion to facilitate this?
Furthermore, if someone then visits a URL such as www.mydomain.com/folder/a_web_page.html, would this still end up at mysite.forumotion.com successfully?

@NeilF
Here is some topic's that may help you.
Please note you need to have one of the package's for any domain names.
The topic was posted in the wrong section, so I have moved it to the correct section.

Many thanks.
So basically where the domain is hosted (elsewhere), it needs to be pointed to the appropriate forumotion URL. And for forumotion to facilitate this you need to have a paid package?
And to confirm (from what I can see in what you've linked):-

Yes without a package you can't use your own domain name. The package has to be renewed every year or by paying monthly using Paypal.NeilF wrote:Many thanks.

Yes that is right.
I am not 100% sure but i think so as the domain is you main address when you set it up.NeilF wrote:The address used in notification emails etc will be the domain version?
I have a domain name added to my forum "But set up in the ACP" and it does show like this

Uber thanks.
As regards, my final question/point, I meant when someone gets an email notication of a reply, I assume the URL link too the reply/thread in the email uses the domain you've now specified in the Forumotion admin panel?

It will use your domain name not the forums default address.NeilF wrote:Uber thanks.
