announcement not updated or scrolling on IE

I have an announcement scrolling on my home page and I updated it today and it works fine on firefox, but when I checked on IE it was the old announcement and not scrolling at all.
Is there some problem with it working properly on IE?

I have done further investigation and it seems that it is the code to change the colour that is causing the scrolling to stop on IE. However I have discovered that if I create a blank message first and have my original message with all the colour and font changes run second there isn't a problem.

Firefox is unaffected what ever I do.
