Firstly the focus is made bigger (that's when you put your mouse in the bar):

Code:

#search #keywords:focus {
    width: 250px;
}

And than the slow movement is made by CSS:

#search #keywords {
-moz-transition-duration: 1s;
}

You could do it with any search bar.
