Domain Name won't transfer correctly.
Ok here is my problem
My web address www.allpetsandanimals.org expired. I went to renew it and saw that the .com version was finally available so I purchased it from another site.
So I used the https://help.forumotion.com/t7021-redirect-an-extern-domain-name-that-you-own-to-your-board guide to get the cname and everything in order. I was able to get it completed and then went to the site and it directed correctly. It changed from the http://allpetsandanimals.forummotion.com/ to the new one www.allpetsandanimals.com and I was able to see the site on it.
So heres the problem though. A day or so after it was all switched it changed back to the old forumotion address and the .com address redirects to the forumotion directory saying nothing like this exists. So I redid it a few days ago. Same thing happened after about a day it reverted back to the old forumotion addres..
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Domain Name won't transfer correctly.
So its related to the redirection from your domain host?

yes I believe. I have done this before with the same registrar and had no problem. I even went to that domains and checked and its the exact copy of the all pets and animals one except just the domain is for all pets and animals
Re: Domain Name won't transfer correctly.
Have you tried getting help from your registrar?

Re: Domain Name won't transfer correctly.
not yet as it seems that the forum itself is the one that kicking the new name and that the other site is working fine. I'll check later to contact them on there end to see but it looks to me like the forum just doesn't want to keep the update I keep giving it. It doesn't even give a warning that it removed the domain name. However when I do go to it it does redirect to the forumotion directory. so wouldn't that mean that the domain is working partly as its direction to forumotion but not directly to the forum.
btw my registrar is godaddy.
So pretty much it works directs correctly and then about a day later it just deletes it. and then directs to the forumotion directory.

Re: Domain Name won't transfer correctly.
Okay, i am a bit lost now.
http://www.allpetsandanimals.org/ That domain expired. So you did not bother renewing it.
Then you bought another domain name from godaddy http://www.allpetsandanimals.com/
You used the redirection tutorial, but it does not work right?

Re: Domain Name won't transfer correctly.
yes I let the .org expire and purchased the .com
the .org was bought through forumotion and was renewed free for 2 years.
However this year I just let it run out because I knew the .com name was now available. and also hoped that forumotion did not renew it for me.
so I bought the .com name off of godaddy and then used the redirection tutorial to redirect it. I got all the first steps completed and then when it came to the forum where you put the address in it goes through. saying it was done correctly. If you want a screen shot of it I can send you one. But. After about 1-2 days that save disappears off of the forum while the domain controls on go daddy stay the same and do not change. Plus when I go to the address it does redirect to forumotion but redirects me this link.
https://www.forumotion.com/en/search/www.allpetsandanimals.com
the thing is though that the domain name part does not ever change but when I get on the forum its always going back to the old address and where I set it to the new address it doesn't show anymore and I have to go through the last part of the redirect tutorial all over again.
edit to add that .org did expire about 2 weeks before I purchased the .com name so the .org no longer showed as active on the forum.
