random users banned

Some of my members are reporting being banned one minute and then unbanned the
next, and it has nothing to do with admin or the moderators. There's nothing in the
security logs either. Nothing has been changed on the forum in months, so ive no idea
whats going on ???.

Can you ask then to get a screen shot of the message that is coming up for them.

Hi Jophy

As previously stated, there is nothing in the logs, just the normal day to day stuff.

None of my users have provided a screen shot yet, so there's not a lot anyone can do until we
get one.

The last entry in my moderator log is actually myself.

As you can see, this was on Sunday and the problem started yesterday (Tuesday). Ive not had any new reports today, so maybe whatever it was has stopped, so will give it a few days and see what happens.

I think it will be better if we'll see the middle part of the moderation logs, we cannot confirm if this is a major glitch if you won't provide us a clear screenshot of the whole moderation logs. Thanks!

I didn't seen anything in the log or in the list of banned members that seems to be abnormal. I'm waiting for more information from your users if possible Wink

plmm0 was responsible of the bans. I don't know why, maybe he had special permissions, but if the problem stopped after he was banned, this means that he has banned himself all the members.

Well I don't think it was him because it didn't even show him online at the time a bunch of members were Re-banned... I'm talkin banned immediately after I just Unbanned them...it has to be some weird glitch... It banned someone that hadn't logged into the Board for years..It's impossible for him to browse through that so quick... the guy isn't even computer savvy, at all lol I know that for a fact, known him for years...Only reason I made him Mod of one little forum was out of respect for some Live shows and donations I got from him.

I really don't see other reason than this one for the moment Smile

Maybe it wasn't him but someone who was logged in his account or something like that. No need to know much about computers to ban users as long as we have the permission to do that.

Anyway, I'm glad you found a solution to stop this thumright

There is "nothing" in the logs out of the ordinary whatsoever, believe me if there was I
would know about it. As I previously said, the last entry was on sunday, this happened
2 days later, so there is nothing in the logs.

We need to see the whole screenshot of it. And the moderation logs are not getting removed or archived at certain time. Even if the last log was on Sunday, the past logs will still be shown, so we need this information by a screenshot. Otherwise you can also provide your administration logs.

As I have said from the beginning, it shows nothing out of the ordinary.

No, my members got the message saying that they were banned.
Still no screen shot, so im guessing that none of them have had the problem
since. Obviously there was a momentary glitch in the system somewhere.

So now, my question is the issue still appearing and are some members still getting banned? Have you resolved the issue? You can un-members on:
Admin Panel > Users & Groups > Ban Control

So I didn't need to do anything and ive had no more reports. As for it being
resolved, well it seems to have resolved itself, but only time will tell.

On our side, we can't help you much more since we have no log and no trace of this error.
