Other Ranks

Hi I am new to all this so not sure if I am in the right place to ask, I did a search on this subject but it didnt throw anything up for me.

I notice when I go to users in the admin panel I can make someone the rank of admin, but nothing else, there is only two options, no special rank assigned or Admin. Is it possible to add your own ranks there I would like to make a moderator rank and such is it possible to add ranks I cant find a way to do it anywhere.
