Vote sysmbols wont change

I have tried, looked, and even used the search feature but I can't get the message vote symbols to change on a phpbb2 forum or an invasion one. I tried changing the + and - symbols in pics management but they still don't show.

all I want to do is change the pic for message vote. I don't want a custom like system. Also your tutorial link had noting for a phpbb2 forum.

Also you tutorial link has no screens or visual examples.

yep that is the one i have been looking for. he added a phpbb 1 and 2 to it also. Thank you you solved something I have been looking for for a while now.
