I am not quite sure what you are asking.

If you mean you would like to have a listing shown of the newest posts without needing to click on the newest posts link, you can do that on the portal.

there should already be one with your forum. Its a text link. View Posts since last visit.

If you want to add a button to the navigation bar, you can do that by going to Admin Panel >> Styles >> Headers >> scroll all the way down to the bottom where you will find Add A Link. You will have to have a button made for it, and have it hosted.
