Jump to newest (unread) posts?

Wondering if there's a setting or script possible to make it so that upon clicking a thread's title in a forum, a user will be taken to the newest reply in the same way that they are taken upon clicking the thread title in the last posts column of the root forum index.

Any help is appreciated.

Do you have a little icon at the START of the thread title. I have PhpBB2 and there is a little arrow, much the same as the one at the END of the current active topic on the home page, but it's at the START of the title of the topic, so if I click that, it will take me back to the place i last left that thread. This only happens if I'm viewing the page that shows all active topics since my last visit, it does not work from the home page.

Now to just find some way to use the admin panel to modify and make that more prominent.
