Domain Name question
is it legal to name a forumotion forum after the name of an existing company which claims ownership of the brand name. For instance, i notice a forumotion forum called:
http://apple.forumotion.com
is this legal?

Re: Domain Name question
Hello,
It depends on the content of the forum.
In this case, the forum is talking about the brand and its products.
That's not really illegal until there's no copyrighted content available, but the company Apple is allowed to claim the change of the name.

Would Apple have to give a reasonable time for the Admin of the forum to make this change (so as to inform posters on the forum of what is going on)? What would constitute reasonable time?
Is it possible to change the name of an existing forumotion forum? As i understand, one would have to create a new forum and migrate all posts and posters to this new forum.
Finally, what happens if the Admin refuses to change the name of the forum?

Re: Domain Name question
There's no general case. It all depends.
If Apple had something to reproach to your forum, they would certainly not contact you directly.
I assume they would contact the DMCA commission or send a litigation.
Anyway, it's absolutely possible to change the name of your forum through the Admin Panel, if that's what you're worried about.
