setting up "search" on a new html page

im wanting to make an rc glossary on my forum, im going to make a new html page, and i want to list each alpabetically straight donw (not going to new pages) and i want to have a search at the top of the page, and when say battery is put in it will take you down to battery.. etc.. how and what do i need to do this? thanks

can anyone help me with this? what script code ill need for the search and how to set it up?

here is what im wanting to do, im wanting this search bar to be on a new html page titled glossary, and on this page, i want the search bar up at the top and ONLY search in the glossary section, not the rest of the forum/site. and than an a-z below it. than when someone puts in battery in the search it will take them down the page to the battery part, or when they select B it will take them to the start of the b's
