Creat a recent thread widget?

From the current widget options there's only a recent topic widget. It displays the recent replies.
I would like to have a widget that can display the recent threads. That is, to display the new starting topics and disregard the latter replies.
How can I find or create this kind of widget? Thanks.

Thx. Mine is phpBB3. And the 2nd link don't fit my need. I want to show latest topics of all forum.
Currently my widget sorts the topics by the time of the last reply. But I want them to be sorted by the time the thread was started.
