Solved Reporting a Post - Not listed in Report List

    Post by Guardian-Angel Fri 23 May - 16:51

    Hello everyone

I had previously posted this question and it was determined that we must be doing something in error, however there wasn't a real answer.

When a user reports a post, I receive an email. This was received overnight.

    Hello !

bleuberry has just reported a post from chinita on .

Click on the following link to go directly to the reported post.
    http://www.bachandbachettefans.net/t2380p792-juan-pablo-nikki-ferrell-facebook-twitter-updates-fan-forum-discussion-thread-3#605375

Or click on the following link to go to the report list.
    http://www.bachandbachettefans.net/report

Remember that you can always choose to be not notified of new reports by changing the appropriate setting in your profile.

When I click on the link to go directly to the post, I see the post in question. When I click on the link to go to the report list, the reported post is not there.

It was previously suggested, when I last started this topic that it might be in archives. It's not in archives.

Can some one suggest any other areas that I should check as to why this is happening. We are entering a period where one of the shows has started to air, and I expect a larger volume of reported posts.

    Thanks for your help.

From what I've seen there isn't a way to delete reports.

As soon as myself or one of the mod's looks at the report list, we leave it "Read", so we can deal with the problem. We simply click on it to read the posters comments as to why they are reporting it. We deal with the post.

When we go back to the list, it's gone.

And you're 100% sure it has not been moved to the report archives (link should appear in the bottom left of the reports page) I know you said it isn't in your first post, but just to make sure.

Also have you gone to the forum and checked the reports before pressing the link in the email?

When I receive the email notice, I click the link that takes me to the post in the forum so I can read the offending post. Then I click the second link that takes me to the actual report, which has comments by the person that reported it.

There were other older report posts sitting in the report list from before I took over as admin. I thought maybe it's full like a PM box?

I updated them all to Finished, as they were old. They were automatically moved into Archive. I had a mod report one of my posts to test. It worked perfectly. Mod reported it, another mod looked at it, I received the email, I clicked the appropriate links, and the report was still there.

It seems if the list gets full it will not accept anymore reports. Nothing tells me that it is full, however lesson learned, to deal with any reported posts, and update the status so they move to archive.

My question is, does the archive section get full as well? I don't see any reason to keep them for too long and waste space, unless I'm missing something.

    Thanks

I have not seen anything that says there is a limit for the report archive list. Could it be that another staff member has deleted the reports by accident?

I'm not sure they can be physically deleted by someone because I've checked on my forum and on the support forum and there is no options to delete reports.

Maybe only the founder or administrators can see it, but on the archive list there is a button to delete them.

It appears if the report list has too many, then it won't accept anymore, it doesn't go into archives, it's missing. There were old report lists, I deleted them all, we tested it, updated the status to finished, it moved to archive.

    Topic is solved.

    Thanks!
