questions about domain, redirect from old forums, post points and roleplay

ive been using this forum for as long as i remember earlier, i stopped for a while and started using this forum again as it is honestly the best forum service ive ever seen

and with this i just got a few questions:

1: yesterday i ordered own domain, how long time does this take to change?
and will it become the new domain automaticly or do i need to select it manually when its validated?

2: i have an old forum. i would like to redirect members from: crystal-gaming.proboards.com  to http://crystal-gaming.forumstopic.com/

is there anything i can do to make peoples connecting to the first website to auto redirect to the new one? or maby anything you can do if i cant?

3: in admin panel under modules i see this "roleplay game" what is it? and how does it work???

4: also, the points u have an option to earn per post you make, can theese points be used for anything particular? or is it just for show`?

Please change the title of your topic to something that is related to your question/issue, so that other users will be able to find their question/issue using the search engine.

4.  Do you mean activity points?

1) It usually takes 24-48 hours give or take. It'll be automatically available for you. However you might want to go to ACP --> General --> Forum Address --> Personalized Domain Name --> Force URL redirection so those going to your default forum address will be redirected automatically to your new domain name.

4) The points mechanic found under ACP --> Module Tab is just a little mechanic on your forum you can choose to do little games with, they aren't used for anything in particular.

If you do mean activity points that you see when you log into your admin panel, those are just to see how active your forum is. Also if you have a very high number you might be offered a free domain name from Forumotion as a thank you for having such a great forum.

i am not sure, i know that u can assign different parts of the forum to give different amount of points when u make a post in that particular forum, and i wonder what theese points are for

but i wonder something u said that i might want to force the new domain so everyone gets redirected... does this mean all the work ive done in the forum will be gone? or will theese be transfered to the new domain automatically?

and also, will all the members too be transfered?

A domain name only changes the link in the browser. It will also affect your SEO ranking.

SEO ranking? can you elaborate that a bit?

oh i just came to think of a thing. i run servers on different games right. and i wondered if it was possiblie for me to gain ftp access in order to easily configure the code on forum and also add in aditional pages in special directories etc for hosting loading screen on the server..

i know many free hosting areas does this. but i dont know if u provide ftp acess. if i have to im also willing to pay for it.

i prefere doign notepad coding by hand as sometimes the panel can be a bit confusing for me

specially when i have to do this specifique coding on a totally empty HTML file for making the loadingscreen compatible with the servers and so on
and also same thing in order to make and configure a new addon im working on for auto donation wich means when peoples donate to me through the website, basically what happens in the game is that they get what they paid for automaticly so i dont need to activate it by hand + it also save logs as a directory through mysql 

so if possiblie i was hoping for havuing access to ftp and mysql
