Cannot change email address on Founders Tool

I'm trying to change the email address of my forum to my current email address, but I get a message saying This e-mail address is already in use for another forum. You cannot use the same e-mail address for several forums. I must have created another forum, but I cant remember the URL or know how I can remove the previous association with my email address.  Can anyone help with this?

Awesome - I now know the site, but i want to remove the association with my email address now.  Could you advise hoe to do that.  I'm happy to have the site removed.

You can delete the forum from the administration panel.

Thanks  Forum deleted and I have now successfully changed the founder email address on the utils (which used the same email address I have registered as on my forum)  However when I go to the credits part of the admin it says only the founder can access this - but that should be me now.  Does something else need to happen?

There should not be anything left, but if there is, I am sure SLG will tell you

Are you sure you're logged in as the founder and not using another account on the forum?

Previously i was just part of the admin team, using my current username, which has the same email as the updated forum founder email address. So i am still logged in using my existing username.  Shouldn't it recognise me as now being the founder, or does something else need to be updated?

Hi,

You're not the founder, even if you've changed the foundation email to your own email address, you're not recognised as the founder. You need to use the founder account to access that section of the ACP.

OK, well the old founder no longer wants to be the founder so he "transferred" the account to me by changing the email address.  I guess this isnt the right thing to do then.  How can it be updated properly?

The issue is the founder account transfer thing doesn't work like that.

Esentially when you create a forum the founders account e.g. the first account created on the forum. Because the founder account and it will always be that account.

It cannot be transferred to your account. What can be done is he gives you the account information and entrusts you with the site.

The problem with this is he is still an established poster on the site and wants to continue posting but doesn't want to do the admin things so I agreed to do this.  I want to be able to do all the credit buying and spending without having to use their account.  So is this not possible?  The only way to do this is to use his account with his personal posts etc?

Unfortunately that's the only way really. Its not possible.

You could have an agreement that you could access his account for founder stuff only. Otherwise I don't really know what to suggest I'm afraid.

You could have an agreement for him to only do the credit buying.
