Change of Forumotion Registration Email Address

Description of problem

Hi,
Ill make this as painless as possible, I am in the process of changing all email addresses to a gmail email address instead of that of my service provider. This is for simplicities sake due to wanting to have the liberty of changing service providers whenever I wish and it not interfering with the multiple forums, websites etc that require an email address for membership or access.

I have changed the email address for my Forum without any problems including my profile email address, my question is, is that all that is required or do I need to register my new email address with Forumotion? As my old email address is what I registered my Forum with.

Thank you for taking your time to answer this question, I am a little concerened that when I move and try to log in I wont be able to when my old service provider will no longer be active.

If you mean that you want to change the creation email, you need to log into https://www.forumotion.com/utils and change it there.

Hi SLGray,

I went to the link as provided and changed both the email address and password. Went to my forum and logged out to test, then logged back in using the new password and now cant log onto my forum. Used the old loggin and was able to log in that way.

Problem is that nothing changed, need to be able to loggin using new password that is connected to new email account.

Using the utilities does not change your log in information for the founder account on the forum.

I went back and checked again just to make sure it wasn't a time delay problem, but still only the old loggin worked. Guys this needs to be resolved, I have some 60+ websites and forums to change to the new email address.

Need to change Creation Email Address from:

dan.b****@*********.on.net

to

dan.b********@gmail.com

Thanks for shadowing this SLGray, mate it should change as I also changed my password, logging onto my forum should now require my new password not the old one. This I did to confirm that the new email address had changed.

What you did was change the password for the utilities, not the forum.

You have to change it on the forum.

It has been changed on the forum SLGray, When I go to users and groups it shows my new email address, however, I should no longer be able to loggin using my old password, I should only be able to loggin using my new password that I changed when I lodged my new email address to Forumotion using the link you provided. Not being able to loggin using my new password confirms that no changes have been made.

Is there a way you can confirm that my Creation Email Address has changed for wowstaskforce44.forumotion.com?

What does it show in the utilities?

It shows my new email address, but that doesn't explain why my new password is not working.
