PERSON TRYING TO SABOTAGE MY FORUM

Somebody named Ryan is trying to sabotage my forum. He`s stealing my stuff and telling everyone that I stole his stuff. His forum is shinobigaiden.forumotion.com . Please stop him. I even told him to stop on skype but he says "I`m going to sue you and report you to forumotion!"

Hello @Swagbito,

He cannot actually sue you if he does not have the proper legal documents. It's just empty threats that you should not take seriously. We do not handle issues between rival forums; it's something that you should work out with that rival or ignore. However, If you feel this forum is breaking the Terms of Service, you should report the forum via the litigation tool. Wink

He had a creative commons copyright. He can sue anyone. Plus,he said he will "call" forumotion.

Copyright means didlies if you can prove that you are the original author & documenter of the said items, also, in a court of law, this would be thrown out, as it wont get to a stage of legal actions.

All you should do is, ignore it. Let him threaten you all he likes, he will leave u alone.
If you are served with a summons notice, all u have to do is show that you created them, the dates and all modifications of them as they would pre-date any of his.

Plus, he probably wouldn't have the money to take legal actions, courts are expansive.

Plus if he wants to 'call' forumotion, I hope he's prepared to call France, and their phone number isn't available on the internet, only the parent company is.

Take a few deep breaths, they likely do not know your name, or address.
He will continue to try and scare you, but if you ignore him he will go away.

I'm not saying he can't sue you, but is he willing to lose money?
If YOU able to back up your clam and refute HIS claim, that this is your work?
You have the original work, you would also most likely have various attempts to get this to where it is today?
Are u able to prove to the court its ur work, the edit dates and creation and upload dates? (right click, properties)
Do they pre-date his images?

If you answered yes to the above, the judge will throw the case out and u will have won.

Simply ignore the matter until you are given a summons letter.

I've been there, done that, and won, no legal representation and walked out 5 mins after walking in.

Other than simply ignoring them like others have explained we can't really get involved.

He/ she will have to have proof that the items are he's/ her stuff on there forum as already said FM will not do anything about this even if that member called them we have NO proof that the items was made by any member it's down to the member to ad there own Copyright's and have proof of the copyright or it Don't stand in the courts of law.
