I bought a hauppage HD PVR recently and was wondering if there is any good free editing software that I can use for my recorded videos instead of using what come with the PVR?

There are a lots of softwares for videos on internet. The best one and used also in movies and anywhere is After Effects by Adobe, isn't as easy as others but you can do intros, snow, lighting effects and a lot of other things.Also, you can search for tutorials on YouTube and it comes with the Render feature too which is a very great and it was tested by me.

If you are talking about recording & editing software, you can try Camtasia or Sony Vegas. I have used both and I have been impressed with the quality. Personally I prefer Camtasia but I also would recommend Sony Vegas. Both have been used by my family and even friends and we all enjoy them both equally.

I would recommend a adobe effects as well. Most Adobe products are great.
