How Can I Customize Forum Status Icon?

Hello, is there a way I can change the forum status the ones that says:
New
Old
Locked

to each forum has there own pictures?
Not putting a picture under the forum section link... I meant like instead of "New, Old, Locked".
like hmmm here is an example:

you see how I want them to be on the other section instead of the three icons New, Old, Locked

Is there a way with codes, scripts, or anything??
