A contract deal for the founder account?

Hi, I am going to have to leave my forum for a year (I will prob log on once each month but anyway) and I am afraid that at some point the other Admins may need the founder account so I have two things in mind which I need to check with you guys if I could do them or not:

1) I will give my account password to all of the Admins and have them sign a contract saying that they will not use my account for personal reasons, delete the forum or change my account password until the day I'm back.
Is this possible/allowed?

2) I will pass on the owner ship to one admin but have him/her sign a contract saying that once I get back he/she will pass me back the owner ship and in case he/she refuses forumotion has the right to take away the ownership and give it back to me.
Is this possible/allowed?

Well Forumotion says never give your log in information to someone else, unless you are handing over the ownership.

What would the other administrators really need the founder account for?  Do you mean like a domain name renewal?

Yes, one of the admins told me he needs founder account to buy credits and get a new domain

Could you not do that before you leave?

It just not a great idea to give someone the founder account information.  If you are going to visit during the year, you can do the founder things in the administration panel.

I guess I'll just put the academy on hold until the day I'm back, I read somewhere that if I go for more than 6 months people have the right to claim the founder account is that true?

If you do not log on for 6 months and 1 days, someone can claim the founder account.  The original founder then has about 2 months to reclaim it.

That someone can be anyone?
Also if I want to put my forum on maintenance/on hold for a year can someone claim the founder account after 6 months passing?
Also can I shut down the forum in someway then put back up when I want to?

First Question:  Yes
Second Question:  I believe the answer will be yes.
Third Question:  Not possible for a year.  You would have to log in after the days you set to reset it.

Slgray, what if another forum administrator is still online and making sure the maintence is kept up with. Does that make those 6 months not count or no? Because surely Forumotion must know that a Founder will not always be available, sometimes life just makes it impossible. If I had another Administrator on at that time, who ensured the upkeep of the, I don't think someone should be able to 'take over' the Founder account.

If yes that would bother me greatly, because I may not always be able to log on or admin the site, that is why I have other admins to make sure things are in good shape and the site is maintained. If I went on a 6 month vacation, left my other admins in charge for the time I am gone, are you gonna take my ownership away if someone wants it?

If I remember right if the founder has not logged in for 6 months and 1 day then the Co admin can take over the forum founders account but if the founder is to log in say 2 times in the year then the founder can not be took over.

If you shout the forum down for a set time then you will loose your members and it will not look good on your side. best thing to do is let your Co admin run the forum with he's her account and you log in once  every now and then and have your Email account open so the co admin can Email you if they really need your help with day to day settings they can not deal with without the founders account.

90% of the ACP can be used by the co admin its just domain, credits, and templates the co admin can not use.

How do I shut the forum for a certain time?

You can put the forum on holiday and create an HTML page that says "This forum is inactive during this time. It will re-open after a year, etc...". That's what I did + I removed the index_body just to make sure no one can post anywhere.

If you do not log in for 6 months and 1 day, the answer is yes.
