    Solved New member activation

Post by GM B-Body Forum Mon 21 Dec - 16:12

Hey guys, so recently when i get new members signed up and it doesent do it all the time, i get a random email saying that member has newly created or deactivated his or her account and i need to "click here" to activate it. Well i got those every so often but never ever clicked on the click here. Well my last to member sign ups i received both of those emails, so then i decided to click it and it took me to my forum and said the account was activated, is this even legit? I dont have new member activation required in the admin panel. Has anyone seen this before? I can attach a screen shot if needed. Thanks

    Hello,
Yes this is ligit, when your forum is new, regardless of what you set it for in the admin panel, until your forum gets active, it will require an admin to manually activate every new account on the forum. This email is to let you know when an account requires activation. Wink

I can assure you it is real, I got one the other day too for a new member on my forum (though mine is active). If one didn't get their activation e-mail or else don't have access to their e-mail account and can't activate their account themself, an admin will have to do it.
