[solved] Problem with poll on portal

I am trying to create a poll that shows up on the portal and I can't quite get it to work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, so those of you who have done this please help me out. I have created a thread that has the poll I want to have show up. I go to admin panel->modules->configuration(in the portal & calendar section) On this page where it says board for poll I have selected the poll I created. I then go to my portal pages management and add the Polls module to the portal. Now when I go to view the portal it says Poll and the section is empty. What am I doing wrong?

Okay, I got it to work. Maybe it didn't like that I moved the topic. I'm not sure. I put the topic in an area that only I can see, I use it for staging posts that I'm not ready for members to see yet. When I finished it and moved it to use it as the poll it didn't seem to like it. I got it working now. I'm going to lock this thread since my problem is solved.
