Everytime a member register on my forum I will receive an email. Is there a way to fix the problem so that I don't receive any emails when members register?

yes
go to admin panel-->user&groups---> User Settings and change the User Activation from Admin To User.

Boy . .. this is what I'm WANTING to happen on my forum, but there's a problem somewhere along the line, lol!

What you need to do:

Admin > Users and Groups > Users settings > Members . . .
2nd option: New Account Activation
Tick: User
