Members permissions
Hi guys,
Is there a way of globally setting all permissions so only members can see their own posts and the moderators responses. Basically due to the GDPR, and our forum iOS one of support for a specific thing, we can't let other members see each others posts.
So ideally we want members to only be able to see and access their own posts with admin/moderators seeing everything.
Is that possible?
Thanks in advance
Ash

Re: Members permissions
sorry to find this funny but Why would you want just staff and that one member to see their own posts and not others ?
The point in a forum is to let others see your posts and make a good site with everyone taking part.
The new GDPR has nothing to do with that kind of data it is all about making sure you keep things like
Email addresses safe,
Keeping personnel data safe Not letting others see post made by your members.
It is down to your member to make sure they don't post anything they don't want the world to see.
The only way to stop your members posts from getting seen by the world is to hide your forum to the public and only let your members see it.
I don't like this move thou as you will get less members making accounts and your forum will die a slow death.
All the stuff needed to be done is our end and you have nothing to worry about.
If your members have posted anything they don't want others to see then they can remove it if they like.

Re: Members permissions
Hi APE,
The posts contained biometric data from patients and the forum - prior to GDPR, was a community of doctors discussing patient outcomes. As GDPR comes into effect we wanted a way of continuing remaining members access to show their cases to the specialist (moderator), but without other community members seeing such information.
This way everyone is protected as we could ensure that that the data is not privy to other members.
We have a paid forum service with quite a few members - it is not public, but we wanted the above going forward. Previously it was okay as it was a learning community.
Is it possible to set permissions between moderator and member - but not other members?

Re: Members permissions
No sadly there is no way that I know of. all you can do is hide the forums from the public or make a forum and Hide it to everyone. Little like a staff forum.
