Migration of Data

Our original website was set up many years ago and has lots of data on the forum. Now that we are back with the release of the remastered game is it possible to export the forum data and import it into a new phpBB instance that is hosted on my personal web server?

Two things we need:

1. Export the form from phpBB.
2. Transfer the Domain Name or point to the DNS to our new host.

1/ You can import from a phpBB self-hosted forum but cannot export a Forumotion forum to self-hosted forum.

For database management, I refer you to this article, which specifies that the motivation not to provide databases is not only a company policy, but also a security policy as it would be easy for an expert to catch any vulnerabilities and attack your forum.

Furthermore, Forumotion is based on an initial version of PhpBB which was then customized and improved "in-house".  For this reason, even if you had the possibility to download the database, you would still not be able to upload it anywhere else.

Finally, users still have the possibility to download their data from their personal "Edit profile" page
