guest can view categories?

guest can view categories again?

the forum is closed to guest viewing in the forum categories except for two categories!

this doesnt mean that they can actually see the index of our forum they are just navigating through the forum

I don't understand that - If I'm standing as a guest, I can't see e.g. music category! - or does it simply mean that the guest clicks on -and cannot see the content in the category:

please check your category permissions
if your permissions are ok then you do not have a problem

as a guest i can see only this



If you have a case where a guest was able to see a closed section, please provide more information and a screenshot from that forum's permissions

Can i ask you has this ever been open to the public before?

I mean was it open to the public/ Guests and then you hid it from the public /Guests

If yes then this is why, When google and other bots we use run over your forum they read your forums and categories.
Now if this topic, post, category, was open to anyone to see google will still look for it for months at a time.

This will show up as looking at your forum even thou it can't see nothing, This also goes for people doing a search in google and finding them posts in them categories

Hi is a google bot. Don't worry, Google bots enter as guests, so if you are indexed you should leave as much as possible open to guests at first until the bot indexes your forum, then you can close categories and forums to guests.
You can have google bots in your forum from EEUU and from Europe and alls like guest

Yes, it has been open before several times and then I have chosen to close to guests for a while!

But during closing for guests, categories have been seen by guests anyway!

But I can understand from your answer that there is nothing we can do about this!
