Paragraph background bother other elements

So, the thing is, when I reduce the width of the website, paragraph background affects list and it looks ugly:

On lower width:




Its background color makes issue for the list. How to resolve this issue and make it responsive?

Just one more thing. When I try to resize window, I would like for that container div to go for 90% of width. I tried changing media query but i messed it up and go this:



So, I reverted back.

This container already takes up 90% of the width of the right column on a PC / main column on a mobile device.





Or are we talking about something else?

Sorry for not being more precise. I mean the main div - main__container.
