    hello

how much time has passed ? cause if it is a long time since the domain has expired you will have to hold on for Godaddy to let the domain go back on sale.

It continues to just say its already taken, following the instructions on that,, and now
when you go to www.dragonforum.com it goes to forumotion page
and you have to type in dragonforum.com without the www. part in order for it to go to the right spot...

Solved Re: Need custom domain back

Post by Shek Mon 22 Jul - 13:38

    Hello...

There are two reasons for this to happen. The first is that your free domain does not point to the custom domain, and the custom domain does not point to the forum (which causes this problem).

The second reason is a problem on FM side. If someone registered the domain on another forum and pointed the free domain to it and waited for propagation, and in the end everything worked out, then when the domain expires, FM still has not released this redirection. I still think we need Luzz or The Godfather intervention here.

    Best regards,
    Shek king

What is the issue if your forum loads fine with the domain link?

    Hello @SpyroDragon Smile

It was because you did not completely followed the tutorial and did not add your domain here in the AP Smile :

    Need custom domain back 25-07-10

I put it for you, now it seems to work perfectly, for both www.dragonforum.com and dragonforum.com.

Do you confirm ? If the issue is solved for you, please mark as Solved Smile

    Hello @SpyroDragon Smile

Your domain is responding correctly with and without www, BUT this morning we have some important slowdowns on the service, so maybe you were concerned with it.

The technical team is searching the reasons of the problem of slowdowns, thank you for your comprehension and your patience !

Have you tried a different browser?

When I type in just the domain name without www., it loads just fine for me.

If I type https, your forum loads just fine, too.

@SpyroDragon Hello, the browser already includes https://, if you put https://dragonforum.com/ in the browser, chrome reads https://https://dragonforum.com, it is a duplicity and the page will not cost you.

It does not It is necessary to add the https:// to the forum addresses, the browser already places it, you just have to put the dragonforum.com forum address. When you put www.dragonforum.com the browser has already automatically placed https:// for make the call.

    Hello the team and @SpyroDragon

It's an external personalized domain name and the set up depends on the SpyroDragon's registrar.

The "www" is OK : https://www.dragonforum.com/

But you have to manage the URL without the "www" in order to don't get the white empty page. You can ask your registrar to set up a 301 redirect for instance.

As The godfather has said you will have to talk to Godaddy/ your Domain host.
Sadly we have no control over your domain name and how it is linked. SORRY.

    Hello @SpyroDragon,

As The Godfather told you, we only host subdomains for an external domain, namely:
    www.myforum.com (in your case www.dragonforum.com)
    (or something.myforum.com, forum.myforum.com....)

But not the root domain: myforum.com (in your case dragonforum.com)

So you have to make a 301 redirection from dragonforum.com to www.dragonforum.com with your registrar, in the Administration pannel of your domain name.

If your Registrar, where you have your domain, is Godaddy you can try to follow this tutorial (or ask Godaddy for help)

In the first field you should choose https://, in the second field you have to put www.dragonforum.com Wink
